Compact, fiber-compatible, cascaded Raman laser.
Cascaded Raman Stokes lasing in an ultrahigh-Q silica microsphere resonator coupled to a tapered fiber is demonstrated and analyzed. With less than 900 microW of pump power near 980 nm, five cascaded Stokes lasing lines are generated. In addition, a threshold power of 56.4 microW for the first-order Stokes lasing is achieved. The Stokes lasing lines exhibit distinct characteristics depending on...
متن کاملGrating-free nth order cascaded Raman fibre lasers using highly Ge-doped low loss fibre.
Pumped by a narrow band Nd(3+)-doped fibre laser, a grating-free three-wavelength Raman fibre laser has been demonstrated. More than 1.3W output power at the third Stokes line of 1230 nm, a bandwidth of 1.8nm and a slope efficiency of ~28% was measured. A four-wavelength Raman fibre laser was also demonstrated using a different resonator that consisted of a 4% fibre end reflector, a dielectric ...
متن کاملMultiple-color cw visible lasers by frequency sum-mixing in a cascading Raman fiber laser.
Multiple cw visible lasers at wavelengths ranging from 550nm to 625nm were generated by intracavity frequency sum-mixing of a cascading Raman fiber laser in a type-I noncritically phase-matched lithium triborate crystal. The phase matching conditions for individual wavelengths were realized by tuning the temperature of the lithium triborate crystal.
متن کاملRadiation build-up in laminar and turbulent regimes in quasi-CW Raman fiber laser.
We study the radiation build-up in laminar and turbulent generation regimes in quasi-CW Raman fiber laser. We found the resulted spectral shape and generation type is defined by the total spectral broadening/narrowing balance over laser cavity round-trip, which is substantially different in different regimes starting from first round-trips of the radiation build-up. In turbulent regime, the ste...
